Assistant Minister for Youth and Employment Services
Luke Howarth MP
As Assistant Minister for Youth and Employment Services from December 2020 to May 2022, Luke Howarth MP demonstrated a deep commitment to supporting young Australians during a period of significant social and economic challenges. In this role, Luke was instrumental in implementing initiatives aimed at improving youth employment outcomes, addressing the challenges faced by younger generations, and ensuring they were equipped with the skills needed for the future workforce.
Luke’s hands-on approach focused on reducing youth unemployment rates, advocating for apprenticeships, vocational education, and targeted training programs. He worked closely with businesses and community organisations to create more employment opportunities for young Australians, helping to bridge the gap between education and meaningful employment.
His dedication to empowering youth extended beyond just employment, as he was an advocate for mental health support services and community engagement programs. Understanding the struggles that young people face in an evolving job market, Luke’s initiatives aimed to ensure that every young Australian had the opportunity to succeed, fostering a sense of hope and resilience among the nationâs youth.
Throughout his time as Assistant Minister, Luke’s policies reflected his belief in the importance of providing young Australians with the resources and opportunities to thrive in a competitive job market, setting them up for long-term success and stability.
