Cost of living pressures

Are you and your family experiencing cost of living pressures? I want to hear from you! Let me know so I can continue to tell your stories and represent you Parliament. Email me at luke.howarth.mp@aph.gov.au

A message from Luke

As we enter into May, I am gearing up for a jam-packed month filled with local and community interactions, the Federal Budget, and Parliamentary sitting weeks. With the crisp autumn air lingering, I find myself reflecting on the matters of my constituents, eager to address your concerns and champion your causes within Parliament. May brings with it a sense of renewal and opportunity. Before we enter into the second half of 2024, we are able to pause and reassess our priorities for the remainder of the year. As well as presenting a chance to push forward as we head into the mid quarter of the year. I know people are doing it tough, rent and mortgage increases, electricity, groceries. Since the Albanese Labor Government were elected we have seen sharp increases in the every day cost of living. The Queensland State Government is weak on crime and are not delivering key local infrastructure. I will continue to raise these issues with the State Opposition Leader David Crisafulli and the Federal Opposition Leader Peter Dutton. I am dedicated to serving the people of Petrie, acting with your best interest in mind at all times. With diligence, determination and a deep sense of duty, I look forward to the month of May as an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those I am honoured to represent. God bless you all for a bright month ahead.

YOUR LOCAL MP
Aspley Devils Rugby League
It’s official! The new change room facilities are open to the players. These new change rooms are immaculate and are designed for both male, female and wheelchair usage, as well as first aid rooms and a viewing/videoing platform. The club is growing at an extraordinary rate, they have over 600 players this year including 170 girls. I secured funding for this project a few years ago and I am excited that these change rooms are completed and can finally be used by the players! Good luck to all of the teams this year!
