GRANTS FOR ADDITIONAL SAFETY IN YOUR COMMUNITY

Tuesday, 5 November 2019

Applications are now open for round five of the Safer Communities Fund, with communities across Australia set to share in up to $55.1 million in grants to improve safety and security in the Petrie electorate.

Luke Howarth MP, Federal Member for Petrie, said locals have the right to feel safe so grants of up to $1 million are available to help achieve this within local communities.

“My priority is to ensure the community of Petrie is safe in and around our beautiful and vibrant region while also focusing on reducing crime, violence and anti-social behaviour,” said Mr Howarth.

“The Safer Communities program can fund community organisations, schools, pre-schools and local councils to help implement crime prevention and security initiatives such as CCTV and lighting.

“A safer community results benefits everyone, and it’s important that people of all faiths, cultures and backgrounds here in Petrie feel secure and safe.”

This fifth round brings the total funding allocated under the Safer Communities Fund to more than $180.1 million.

Application close 5pm Tuesday 10 December Australian Eastern Daylight Time.
