CELEBRATING PETRIE’S HARDWORKING TEACHERS

Friday, 25 October 2019

Luke Howarth MP, Federal Member for Petrie has paid tribute to the teachers working in the many schools within the electorate on World Teachers’ Day today.

“On World Teachers’ Day we celebrate the teachers who have made a difference in our lives as well as the teachers who are educating our local children,” Mr Howarth said.

“I’ve have a magnificent working relationship with the schools in Petrie, from Aspley to Deception Bay, I know all teachers are extremely dedicated in their work to give our children the best possible education and the best start to life.

“Teachers are the lifeblood of our local school communities and I have seen firsthand the passion, knowledge and commitment of the teachers working in Petrie.

“Our local teachers are a credit to themselves, their schools and our community and today we thank them.”

World Teachers’ Day is an opportunity to recognise and appreciate teachers and the important role they play in shaping the next generation.

This year, the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership is focusing on the #brightfuture of the profession including beginning teachers starting their career. They are also celebrating the role experienced teachers play in both the classroom and supporting beginning teachers on their teaching journey.
