As we head into August, I am reminded of the vibrancy and resilience of our community. This time of year brings a renewed focus on the goals we set out to achieve at the beginning of 2024.
Whether it’s advancing infrastructure projects, supporting local businesses, or enhancing community services, I am committed to ensuring that our electorate thrives.
This month, we will see significant progress on several key initiatives, including the upgrade of Beams Road and Dorville Road in Carseldine and the on and off ramps at Dohles Rocks Road in Griffin.
August also provides us with an opportunity to come together and celebrate the unique spirit of Petrie. I encourage you to participate in the various community events planned, from local markets to sporting events and festivals.
These gatherings are not only a chance to enjoy ourselves but also to support and uplift one another. As your Federal MP, I am always here to listen to your concerns and work alongside you to make Petrie an even better place to live.
Letâs continue to build a strong, inclusive, and forward-thinking community together.
Have a blessed month of August.
Visited my local Seasons IGA in Clontarf recently. Nicole and I spoke about the current cost of living crisis, community connection and the supermarket industry.Â
This visit was a positive reminder to support small businesses, like your local IGA’s.
From thrilling rides to delicious treats, the Mueller College Fete was the perfect blend of excitement and community spirit.
It was great to chat to many of you who attended!
Thank you Mueller College.

It was an honour to speak at the Mango Hill State Secondary College’s Investiture last week.
I was able to share my knowledge of leadership, encourage the students to take all opportunities that come their way and to show pastoral care to all students.
On Wednesday 31 July, I attended a Financial Services Council Breakfast event in Sydney. During this major public address to more than 100 attendees, I discussed the Coalition's plans for the financial services industry should we form government at the next election. This breakfast allowed me to connect with many people from the industry and listen to firsthand issues in regards to superannuation, financial advice and funds management. I emphasised the importance of cutting red tape and reducing regulation which is driving up costs for the financial services sector. These costs are passed on to individual consumers who need financial advice and the Albanese Government has done little to get them down.
Parliament is in full swing, and I have the privilege of representing Petrie and being able to bring forward the issues that matter most to you. Below are some speeches I have completed in Parliament recently. If there is something you would like me to raise in Parliament, please email me at Luke.Howarth.mp@aph.gov.au
