STUDENTS IN PETRIE HEAD BACK TO SCHOOL

Wednesday, 29 January 2020

Luke Howarth MP, Federal Member for Petrie has wished all students in the electorate heading back to school the best of luck for the year ahead.

“There are approximately 834,000 students heading back into the classroom for 2020 this week in Queensland with around 50 of these schools located in Petrie,” Mr Howarth said.

“From those beginning Prep in Queensland to the students heading into their final year of school, I encourage you all to make the most of your education.

“Our education system is world class and the Federal Government is proud to be delivering record funding of more than $310 billion to all schools, with a focus on delivering better outcomes for our children.

“I hope every student in Petrie is ready to study hard and unlock their potential, as well as have fun.”

Most children heading to school will have been inundated with images of bushfire and drought across the summer period, and some may have been touched by the disasters personally.

“Schools are a good place to find support, whether it is access to counselling, a school chaplain or another adult to talk to, and I encourage all children to seek support when they need it,” Mr Howarth said.
