Federal Member for Petrie Luke Howarth MP has today announced $400,000 to help the Redcliffe Surf Lifesaving Club upgrade their building.
“The Surf Lifesaving Club does an amazing job in our area,” said Luke Howarth MP.
“They look after swimmers at Sutton’s Beach and teach local children water safety and how to swim in open water, all while helping our community become more active and cohesive.”
The Club expansion would provide a training area and a function area, available for hire, as well as the potential for a coffee shop that would be open for breakfast.
The RSLSC was born in 1991 and was initially based in a shipping container.
The existing clubhouse was built a year later, in 1992, and is now used by more than 500 members.
