Federal Member for Petrie Luke Howarth MP has today announced $195,000 for CCTV around Stanley Day Park, Bald Hills.

Over the past three years, Luke Howarth MP has been working with community groups and local police to make our community safer.

“We identified Stanley Day Park as an area of concern, and I have been working with the Ridge Hills United Football Club committee to help them lodge an application for Federal CCTV funding.

“The Club has kindly offered use of the clubhouse to store the CCTV recording equipment for easy access by local police.”

Luke Howarth MP last month visited the club with Justice Minister Michael Keenan and has been in regular contact with the Minister to secure the funding.

“When I heard our application to the Safer Streets program was unsuccessful, I went straight to the Minister to ask how else we could obtain funding.

“I guess my persistence paid off.”

Under a re-elected Turnbull Liberal National Government, CCTV cameras will be installed at three locations in Stanley Day Park: 12 cameras along the park’s footpaths, 8 cameras on the clubhouse and 7 cameras around the field toilets.
